Have you heard what everyone's been talking about? ONE, of course! It's the newly released film documenting Chabad's rescue and relief efforts in the wake of several natural disasters.

Reflecting the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, the Chabad Lubavitch Shluchim – emissaries – are legendary for their love of every Jew. Join Chabad rabbis in Thailand as they search hospitals for missing Jews after the tsunami; enter post-Katrina New Orleans together with search and rescue teams; and accompany volunteers as they bring meals to home-bound seniors in the wake of Hurricane Wilma. Also hear a powerful talk by President Bush, praising Chabad's relief efforts.

The locations and circumstances vary, but the instinctive response is the same. Dec. 8: Meet the Author - TONIGHT!
Meet the Author of “The Rebbe's Army”! Join journalist and author, Sue Fishkoff, for a speaking engagement, booksigning and discussions offering objective insights into the world of Chabad-Lubavitch, from her book. “The Rebbe's Army” is an accurate, detailed portrait of the outreach efforts of Chabad, which has become a major movement in American Judaism. "With a critical but appreciative eye, Sue Fishkoff explains why so many secular people have such a warm spot in their hearts for the Chabad movement, and especially for its army of “shaliachs,” says Alan Dershowitz. “A wonderful book about a fascinating group of people.  We can learn much both from the book and from the emissaries about whom she writes." Dec. 10: Farbrengen for Men
All men are invited to join in a Chassidic Farbrengen in honor of the 9th of Kislev, celebrating the birthday & day of passing of the second Chabad Rebbe, Rabbi Dov Ber. Celebrate with us at Chabad following services on Shabbat, December 10. What's learned at a class or lecture is stored in the mind; what's learned at a Farbrengen is engraved in the heart.

Dec. 10: Cafe Chabad
Back by popular demand - Cafe Chabad! The first one, this Motezei Shabbat, December 10, features comedian Reuven Russel whose comedic talent has been showcased on television (ER, Showtime, USA Network), in theater (The Sunshine Boys) and on film (Chaplin, Adventures of Agent Emes). Get ready to laugh like you've never laughed before on Saturday, starting at 8:30 p.m - open to men and women. Also enjoy some Chinese food that's not in a take out container—for a change.

Dec. 12: Jewish Art & Meditation
Women: Join us for an evening program, "Visions of Fire," where learning, spirituality & creativity meet! At this Jewish Art & Meditation Workshop with noted artist, Neria Cohen, participants will paint a canvas which they take home - no painting experience necessary! Dec. 14: Story Time at Chabad
We're pleased to invite you to the second of our 4 Storytime programs for the year. This lovely program is geared for boys & girls, ages 4 – 7. Children gather at Chabad for a special story & snacks from 5:30 – 6:30 pm; reservations are not required – all are welcome! Dec. 15: Farbrengen for Men
The month of Kislev is replete with Chassidic celebrations, and what's a celebration without a farbrengen! Men are invited to join us once again for a Farbrengen, this time celebrating the wedding anniversary of the Lubavitcher Rebbe & Rebbetzin OBM. Dec. 16: Farbrengen Dinner
The 19th of Kislev holds a special spot on the Chasidic calendar. On this day, the founder of Chabad Chasidism, R' Shneur Zalman of Liadi, also referred to in Yiddish as the “Alter Rebbe” or as the Baal HaTanya, author of the classic mystical work, The Tanya, was released from prison in the year 1798. More than a personal liberation, this was a watershed event in the history of Chassidism, heralding a new era in the revelation of the "inner soul" of Torah. This day has since become known as the New Year of Chassidism.

We celebrate this miraculous release that allowed for the future of the Chabad movement on Monday evening, December 19, at 8:15pm at the Chabad Center , 74 Maple Avenue , Cedarhurst with the biggest Farbrengen Dinner of the year. This year, Rabbi Moshe Herson, Chabad emissary and Dean of Rabbinical College of America will lead the celebration for men and women, along with live Chassidic music & a festive dinner.
