What a pleasure, what a joy, how exciting it is to see your faces when you drop off your child at our Hebrew School. While this may be an opportunity for you to have a few hours to catch up with your bills or exercise, we know the real joy stems from seeing your little “nachas” excited to go to Hebrew School.
Well, that joy is felt by us as well, here at Chabad 5 Towns Hebrew School, we love it when there is noise and things being thrown around... What is being thrown around you wonder???? The student’s minds are constantly challenged, so there are ideas constantly being thrown out there. For example when the children in the older classes had to try and unscramble the “Yom Kippur Phrase” = Yom Kippur is the most holy day of the year when Hashem decides how my year will be = or when the children learned about the Jonah story, and how important it is to listen to Hashem, and to take advantage of the opportunity Hashem gives us to repent.
But the highlight of the day was certainly the launching of our beloved Aleph Champ Hebrew Reading Program. All the children were given karate costumes to get in the spirit, and watched a motivational video on Aleph Champ (see video www.chabadfivetowns.com/566098) on how by keeping your eyes on the prize you can go all the way. And finally the students from last year got to once again sit with their Aleph Champ buddies, and the new students were working on acquainting themselves with the Aleph Champ level they hope to very soon ascend from.
Be sure to watch Hebrew School videos on our website, link on left , it’s a great idea to watch it with your child so that they know how much nachas they can give you in the future weeks, in addition to remindsing them how you truly care about their Hebrew School.
I wanted to once again wish everyone that they should be sealed for an unforgettable great year.
Reminder that there is Hebrew School every Sunday until Thanksgiving, which is the next Sunday that there isn’t Hebrew School, not something to be very thankful for, I guess :)
Best Wishes,
Rabbi Meir Geisinsky
