When Rabbi Mendel and Nechama Danow arrived in Pensacola in 2018, building a mikvah was one of their dreams for the growing Jewish community. Today, that dream has become a reality, with the opening of an 820-square-foot facility featuring three mikvahs—for women, men, and vessels—thanks to the generous support of many friends and donors who helped bring this vision to life.
Designed with deep intention and inspired by the Land of Israel, the mikvah welcomes visitors with a garden of Israeli fruit trees leading to the entrance, while its walls are clad with Jerusalem stone imported directly from Israel.
More than 120 community members gathered to celebrate the opening of Pensacola’s first-ever mikvah, a historic milestone in a city whose Jewish presence spans over 150 years.
