Celebrate Passover with Chabad!

Passover will be here before you know it! Whether you are a Seder veteran with answers to all four questions, or a curious explorer with forty questions of your own, the Chabad Seder offers a stimulations and satisfying experience. Chabad will be holding a Communal Seder, Wednesday evening April 12, 8:00 pm at the Chabad Center. Adults and children are invited to join us for the Passover Seder of a lifetime - one you will never forget. Please be sure to place your reservations early by calling 516-295-2478 or via the secure form on our website.

In contrast to the well known seder, many have not heard of the Meal of Moshiach at all. The Baal Shem Tov, founder of Chabad, established a tradition that on the last day of Pesach we eat a special meal, the Moshiach Seudah, complete with matza, wine and Chassidic songs. Rabbi Heshy Epstein, director of Chabad of S. Carolina, will lead the Seudah at Chabad of Five Towns on Thursday, April 20, 6:30 pm.

It is traditional not only to put your leavened products out of sight during Passover, but also to sell them through a Rabbi to a non-Jew. This is done in order to fulfill the commandment of not owning any Chametz on Passover. For your convenience, our "Sale of Chometz" form is now available online or at the Chabad Center.

The world's most comprehensive Passover site has opened for the upcoming Passover season at www.chabad5towns.com/passover. Calling Moses
Do we surrender to the anti-truth of arbitrary happenstance, or do we embrace the divine calling of purposeful engagement? The difference looks a lot smaller than it is

The Parshah In a Nutshell
Parshat Vayikra

G‑d calls to Moses from the Tent of Meeting, and communicates to him the laws of the korbanot, the animal and meal offerings brought in the Sanctuary. These include:

The "ascending offering" (olah) that is wholly raised to G‑d by the fire atop the Altar;

Five varieties of "meal offering" (minchah) prepared with fine flour, olive oil and frankincense;

The "peace offering" (shelamim), whose meat was eaten by the one bringing the offering, after parts are burned on the Altar and parts are given to the Kohanim (priests);

The different types of "sin offering" (chatat) brought to atone for transgressions committed erroneously by the High Priest, the entire community, the king, or the ordinary Jew;

The "guilt offering" (asham) brought by one who has appropriated property of the Sanctuary, who is in doubt as to whether he transgressed a divine prohibition, or who has committed a "betrayal against G‑d" by swearing falsely to defraud a fellow man.

Daily Thought: Bodily Assumptions

Why do we assume that the body is any further from G‑d than the soul?

Does G‑d then lie in some spiritual space outside the corporeal world?

G‑d is everywhere.
