Dear Community Member,

Over the past two years, the Five Towns and surrounding communities have enjoyed the myriad benefits of the Five Towns Jewish Community (“FTJC”) and Five Towns Shuls (“FTS”) group e- mail lists. For those who are already members, we hope you find these lists useful and informative, and we thank you for participating in our community lists.

For those who are not currently members of these lists, allow us to provide a summary of our services, an easy to follow link to activate your free membership and a brief statement of our policies. It is important to note that (i) the FTJC and FTS e-mail lists are separate and distinct and have different policies with regard to postings (and duplicate postings are not permitted) and (ii) neither the FTJC, the FTS nor any of its moderators or volunteers receive any compensation or derive any other financial benefit from these lists.

In short, FTJC is primarily used to post local shul or school information, information relating to community tzedakkah events, information about shiurim, shiva notifications, emergency situations involving members of our community, community blood drives and similar community efforts. By posting an appropriate message on the FTJC board, nearly 1500 community members will receive useful information. FTS, an e- mail list organized to supplement FTJC, allows its members to freely communicate with each other about other topics, subject to fewer restrictions, as outlined below. It is the hope of the moderators that these lists will facilitate open lines of communication and enhance the feeling of a strong sense of family that we all strive for within our community.
