Relationship
The idea of inequality is distasteful to us. So we reject everything about it, everything it ostensibly resembles, everything it reminds us of. Including the most beautiful, gratifying and enlightening thing we have: our relationships with each other

Inner Dimensions
Be a Star in His-Story
To serve or not to serve is not the question, and it is not the choice. Every character serves the author. The choice is only about how you serve—directly, playing the good guy, or indirectly, playing the villain

Story
Ester'ke
"Listen to me, Mrs. Rosenberg," her heavy face was flushed with excitement. "Let me take her. Why should she die, the innocent babe? I will care for her as if she was my own. I never had children, you know. Give her to me..."

The Bus Ride
I try to stop the thought-process I know is coming, but it happens anyway. Should I sit in the front or the back? Definitely not the middle. Usually a bomber tries to get to the middle....

The Parshah In a Nutshell: KORACH

Korach incites a mutiny challenging Moses' leadership and the granting of the kehunah ("priesthood") to Aaron, accompanied by Moses' erstwhile foes, Dathan and Aviram. Joining them are 250 distinguished members of the community, who offer the sacrosanct ketoret (incense) to prove their worthiness for the priesthood. The earth opens up and swallows the mutineers, and a fire consumes the ketoret-offerers.

A subsequent plague is stopped by Aaron's offering of ketoret. Aaron's staff miraculously blossoms and brings forth almonds to prove that his designation as High Priest is Divinely ordained.

G‑d commands that a terumah ("uplifting") from each crop of grain, wine and oil, all firstborn sheep and cattle, and other specified gifts be given to the Kohanim.

Daily Thought: The Child

(This after 90 years soaked in Kabbalah and philosophy:)

The ultimate prayer is the prayer of the small child.You pray to some lofty concept of The Infinite Light or The Essence of Being or... But the child doesn't have any concept. Just G‑d.

When you open your eyes in the morning, you are a newborn child. Then and there you meet G‑d face to face. As you awaken and your brain becomes engaged, keep the child with you.

From the wisdom of the Lubavitcher Rebbe;
