This weekend, over 2,000 women from around the world are gathered together in Crown Heights, Brooklyn for the Annual International Convention of Shluchot (women emissaries). The 4-day program is held on or near the yahrtzeit of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushkah Schneerson (b. 1901), wife of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, who passed away on the 22nd of Shevat of the year 5748 (1988).
The women have the opportunity to hear guest speakers, attend workshops, visit the Ohel (Lubavitcher Rebbe’s gravesite) and socialize among their peers. It also gives shluchot of all ages and countries the opportunity to share ideas and programs for Chabad Centers and serves as a time to recharge with some spiritual energy to continue their work in their respective communities. The convention culminates this evening with The Gala Banquet at the Brooklyn Marriot Hotel, after which these 2,000+ incredible women will return to their posts around the world to continue bringing the joys of Judaism to their communities.
Best wishes,
Rabbi Zalman Wolowik
